My Ambition

I want to be a chemical engineer when I grow up.

Chemical engineer produce new material from raw material which is quite fascinating. Chemical engineering is applied in the manufacture of a wide variety of products. The chemical industry manufactures inorganic and organic industrial chemicals, ceramics, fuels and petrochemicals, agrochemicals (fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides),plastics and elastomers, oleochemicals, explosives, detergents and detergent products (soap, shampoo, cleaning fluids), fragrances and flavors, additives, dietary supplements and pharmaceuticals. Closely allied or overlapping disciplines include wood processing, food processing, environmental technology, and the engineering of petroleum, glass, paints and other coatings, inks, sealants and adhesives.

The examples are copy pasted. Lol if u really went to read everything.

From what i know, chemical engineers design processes to ensure the most economical operation. This means that the entire production chain must be planned and controlled for costs. Yup,they do that. For example, they can change certain factors to make reactions faster. Like ammonia is simply produced from its component elements in a high-pressure reactor.

I also learned that chemical engineering has a broad field, covering areas such as bio- and nanotechnology. But I dun really need to worry about it now. Years to go before I really need to decide on major to specialise in. By then,my ambition might alrdy have changed.

Sorry Ms Jee,I don't know any chemical engineer for me to interview them. Sorry.

  1. You find a lot of opportunities in chemical engineering as the greatest challenge facing humankind in the 21st century is to provide sustainable energy sources to meet the demands for quality of life and economic growth in both the developed and developing world. The only thing you have to do is to ask "why not" in order to succeed.Sonchi disukaba!
